I think a first gen hitch (1986-1989 and likely a 1984-1986) will fit, too. The hitch I had on my '89 came from my buddy's '91. Same bolt holes in the frame.

No they should be the same, my MC rear bumper originally came off an 87 and it bolts right up to my 92 frame.

a 3rd gen hitch can work if you can cut and weld good.
