Trailer Hitch?

Just a quick question....Will a 3rd gen hitch fit our second gens? I couldn't find a solid answer anywhere and i must have spent 3 hours searching. It appears that everything is identical in the rear frame wise but I'm not 100% positive on this. I've looked for months trying to find a used hitch for my runner but I'm always a day late and a dollar short on snagging it. I see a ton of 3rd gen hitches for sale though. As always any help is much appreciated.

I've checked all of the local junk yards and even hit the pick n pull every time they have a 2nd gen runner listed and none of them ever seem to have a hitch.

A 3rd gen one won't fit right IIRC. Too bad you don't live near me, I got one sitting beside my shop.

dont mean to throw salt in an open wound but ive got an extra on sitting on my project 4runner that probably isnt going to get used so if either of you make it to WA for any reason ive got one too :target:
