HELP I am about to rip the ass end of my 2003 runner open to find out why my trailer light plug only has blinkers and stop lights working no tail lights. I am getting 0 volts at the outside plug. Does that mean the converter is gone? and how much of the interior do I have to remove? Any help would be great

Before you start tearing apart your ride, check the tow wire harness connector up under the rear, next to the spare on the drivers side. There is a connection which the tow harness connects to the main rear light harness, and I found that moisture had gotten into mine, and caused some lighting problems last year. I had to remove my tow harness and clean and repair two or three bad connections to get mine working again. Also, check the ground connection, a bad one can cause problems.
