Trailer Options

Hi guys been a little while since posting. This winter I have an opportunity to get a 4 wheeler with a plow to do my driveway. Family friend also giving me a barely used snow blower that I plan on fixing and selling.

I do not own a trailer so I will be renting one to get both the quad and blower home approximately 50 miles. Question is will a u haul 6x12 trailer be to much for my rig 01 Sr5.

Have not yet towed anything with my 4runner. Not sure if my trailer lights will work is there any way to test the 4 way plug.

Thanks for the info and advice. Happy Holidays

Al

Yeah it'll do fine. I tow a 6x12 (900#) and two full size quads (700# each) with no issues.

You can test the connections with a test light or meter and a friend. Test running lights, turn and brake signals. Luck and enjoy! :cowboy:

You're fine. I tow a 6x8 utility and a 6x12 cargo regularly hauling everything from a farm tractor and home improvement stuff to firewood.

Just make sure the weight is distributed correctly when you load up and triple check your connections.

Why is everyone so worried about towing with a 4Runner?

Make sure its hooked up correctly, wired correctly (lights working), and the load is secured and balanced correctly and go for it!
