Trailhead98's Build Thread

Thanks. I actually just waxed it for the first time in 9 mths (waaayyy too long)...looks so much better. Not sure if you noticed but i'm currently running "rack-less". I really don't like the look but had to take it off when looking for a roof leak. It will be going back on in a few days. BTW, what all did you use to seal yours when you reinstalled it? I'm super paranoid about water leaks now.

Yea, i've got tons of stuff out on craigslist. Some 4runner stuff and some audio stuff. Some things have been on there quite a while...the economy definitely isn't helping. I think I may pull the suspension ad as I've pretty much decided to just stick with larger tires and wheels for the time being. Those SE wheels would look great on your./her truck....:naughty:

Nice, didn't notice the no rack.....that roof leak sounds awful. I used a locktite pipe thread sealant when putting my rack back on. And it seemed to be fine.

If you ever go wheeling let me know....I'm always looking to go/someone to go with. I dont go crazy though haha

My roof rack never actually leaked (as far as I could tell). At the time, I thought I may have had a leak around my windshield (replaced twice due to rock chip) and was trying to eliminate all other possibilities. I was thinking of adding the thread sealant as well as the silicone adhesive. It should be good as new.

Where do you wheel at? Honestly, i've only ever been "wheeling" once and it was more of a mud bog (pouring rain) and wasn't too fond of the cleanup that followed. Although it was extremely fun. Ha. I prefer more of a trail type ride.

I hear ya, I've driven on some light/fun trails in paint rock, b'ham has some very scenic trails so I've heard. Some around Tuscaloosa..I just need to explore more haha. I lurk in the Alabama thread of Tacoma World cause they have a pretty big following, so I see what's going on.

Just read entire build/two builds. Good job... I enjoyed it!

I have spent time working in Huntsville AL and love the area. I think its the best part of AL.

Keep up the good work!

I'll just leave this here.

Not sure where your at in AL but there are a lot of good parks in the northern AL southern TN area, hawk pride in tuscombia al, wooleys offroad is just of I65 up in tn, wheeling in the country in summertown tn, just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. These all offer a good variety of trails.

Know the names of these scenic trails in bham? I wouldn't mind hitting a few now that the weather is warming up.

Skyway is in Clay county in the outskirts of Sylacauga. Very scenic but not anything for off-road wise. Just a bumpy old dirt road. But what kinda sliders are those? 4x? They look sweet! Iv been wanting some for the longest just haven't pulled the trigger yet lol!

That's right, I wasn't sure. The sliders are savage with kick outs. I'm pretty excited

Hey man haven't checked out your thread in a while, went back thru and started at the beginning and kinda skimmed thru it. Glad to see your still moving along. Can't wait to see some pics of the sliders installed.
