tranny mileage - no transmission fluid change

Wow, on the non-"lifetime" fluid, no less.

I saw your purchase thread and you mentioned that the vehicle had all the service records. Was there any discussion at that time about the ATF being original?

I will look through the service records in the folder I received from the original owner to confirm!

Related to this thread, I drained my trans fluid on an 08 V8 4runner with ~104k, and I believe that I'm the first one to do this.

I sent the fluid to Blackstone & it came back pretty well along the lines of their average interval fluid (~32k).

I can post the results, but I KNOW that somewhere on this forum (I think) I saw that someone started a thread with a Blackstone analysis & I wanted to piggy back on that thread.

This is what happens with drinking excessively while researching changing the trans fluid on your wife's car.....

I've got 3 qts of WS on the way. Maybe Toyota has some magic engineered into their tranny fluid but I've never been comfortable with the idea of a "lifetime" fluid. A few companies that used to do that have backpeddled recently. It's impressive that some people have transmissions doing well with so many miles on the original fluid, and maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'll be changing mine next weekend.
