I am sure you can get a trans cooler somewhere although I just did my radiator this weekend. Only cost about $225 for the radiator and new upper/lower hoses. Took about 3 hours including quite a bit of time to drain the radiator.
By the time you go through buying a trans cooler, getting it to fit in there and everything else it is probably just easier to replace the radiator...

you can completely by-pass the rad and use just a cooler for your tranny. Be carefull to get the correct size, you don't want to overcool your fluid because your tranny is designed to operate at a certain temp. I have a Long tru-cool cooler #4454, it works great with my rad, you may need to go a larger rating.

cool thanks I just got a trans cooler got the heavy duty one it shows how to bypass the radiator and just use that it cost a bit more but it should be worth it to use the trans cooler better on the engine and trans anyway

As said above, make sure it isn't over-cooling your transmission, it could have an adverse effect.

Be carefull not to cover up too much of your rad, sometimes temperatures are not a good thing to fool with. You also have to mount your cooler in a place where you will get airflow. (again, the problem of having a large external cooler.... air flow=front of rad!!!) I would suggest you replace your rad (not $$$) and get a smaller external cooler to work along with it, therefore you wouldn't use up a lot of space, both fitment and rad exposure. My 2 cents worth!!! P.S. My father in law has been rebuilding trannys for 35 years, and that was his advice for mine!!:driving: What are you towing?

Photobucket is good for hosting pictures. Then just copy and paste the IMG code.

I've been having a hell of a time posting photos with photobucket, sometimes it would randomly replace a photo with a different one. Very aggravating, I'm getting ready to switch over to Picasa.
