Bumping a somewhat older thread to see if someone can answer my question..
There are 2 different actuators depending on the configuration of 4th gen 4runner, correct?
-full time 4wd V8's (like my 03) that only have the option to select 4Lo & Center Diff lock (constantly in 4Hi otherwise)
-Part time 4wd v6's that can select 2Hi,4Hi,4Lo and center diff lock.
Is that assumption correct?
Furthermore... am I reading/understanding correct that there are 2 different motors inside of the actuators regardless of whether it's full time 4wd or part time? I imagine that on either case there should be 2 shift works, one for the diff lock, and the other for the 4wd/hi/lo actuation?
Just trying to figure out if the wiring/process of operation is relatively similar between the two different setups, with the 2wd models simply spinning the motor further for 4Lo engagement with an additional limit switch for feedback or something like that?
