Transfer case fluid, dealer no order

So I just went to local dealer parts counter in prep for some fluid changes and he said they don't carry the Toyota 75w transfer case oil. They only use bulk mobil 1 75/90 in the service department.

I am using amsoil 75/90 for my diffs....
I hate to wait for more amsoil to come in and would like to do it all at once transfer case, tyranny, diffs (full skids)

Any thoughts?

Also...he said they don't carry transmission filters and have not ordered them in years...he says they just clean with solvent and put the old one back.

Yeah my thought is I can’t stop laughing over the continued insistence of some to use OEM oil and fluids when even the dealers don’t use it. There’s an old saying that applies here: A word to the wise is sufficient.

Mobil Delvac 75w90 and you’re good.

Any off the shelf fluid of the correct viscosity will do just fine.

Ended up getting valvoline synthetic 75/90

You really just need a GL-5 75-90 gear oil. I use AMSOIL's severe gear in my 4th gen, but we use Mobil1 or valvoline synthetic for our bulk at work.

We do have a few of the cans of 75w from left over warranty work. But no one really uses that.

As for the transmission, as far at Toyota goes, all their WS ATF transmissions use a metal screen style filter (i think the only exception is the U660x?), not a paper one like other brands. So just unbolt it, clean it up and install with a new o-ring.

Ended up with enough of the amsoil that I had bought for the diffs....used it and returned the valvoline.

I also use Redline. 70W85 GL-5 for both differentials, and the MV-LV 70W/75W GL-4 for the transfer case.
