Manual Transfer case Fluid same as Electronic?

Just double checking. I have the 2011 manual shift transfer case V2FA does it use the same spec fluid as the Electronic controlled ones VF2BM VF2CM?

I'm going off what both the Redline site says which is the MT-LV 70-75 Oreilly's carries it and also says it's right but just saw there are different cases but having trouble cross referencing this information.

I've never heard of any difference. The electronic T-case internal gears and chain should be the same as the manual. The only difference being the E case has servo motors to engage the gears.

Correct, manual has the same internals as an electrical shift. Only difference is the manual has shift linkage and the electrical has shift motors, neither of which are lubricated by the internal fluid.

I use Mobil Delvac 75w90 synthetic. It’s the same as the Mobil differential gear oil, but without the limited slip additives.

Ok cool, That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the confirmation! Just wanted to make sure before doing the work. I went with Redline MT/LV 70-75 heard good reviews and supposedly a very close match to the Insanely overpriced Toyota Transfer Case oil. Here in Hawaii dealer quoted me 125 per can! Youch... online found it around 85 plus shipping from a dealer on mainland. Saw it various other places but I don't trust ebay or amazon on this kind of stuff. So I spent 50 for 2 Qts of the redline. I also got 5qts of their GL5 Diff fluid. Big maintenance day(s) coming up. All three cases getting new fluid. Power Steering flush and brake fluid. Then onto treating the surface rust on the frame. Gotta keep this gem of a truck in tip top shape!


Also rigged up an oil pump for filling the cases. I had made a portable shower with a pump sprayer. Locked the top and fit a shrader valve to the tank. Using a hand held air pump to pressurize. Worked great as a shower but upgraded to the Rinsekit pro which holds more water and is just way nice to use.

Stoked to finally repurpose the old one after a thorough cleaning and dry out it will be a dedicated oil filler. Can't take credit for the design. I saw an thread another user made one, but I can't remember who it was or where the thread was.

Redline will be fine. I've used it and the Ravenol straight 75W both with no issues. Toyota is nuts with their pricing on that gear oil.

Any off the shelf 75/90 gear lube.

I use Redline MT-LV for the T-case. It's 70/75W and GL4. Label shows compatible with Toyota/Lexus LF fluid.
