I was going to change my 2016 SR5 front/rear differential and transfer case fluid again. I've changed them before with Mobil 1 75w/90 LS GL5 and it worked great. I bought them from local Advance Auto. Went there yesterday and found that they no longer sell it. Instead they sell 75w/140. Does it work as well or the weight is too high and I need to order them from Amazon?

I just did my rear diff with Valvoline 75w90, full synthetic. Comes in easy FlixFill squeeze containers. Made the job super easy and my mpg's have also improved. Could be the summer gas for mpg's but they have definitely improved right after the fluid change.

75w140 works well for towing and off-road rigs. ECGS recommends it in their rebuilt diffs. 75w140 not good for colder climates. Just go with toyota recommended weight or 75w90 mobil which is probably the most widely used.
Walmart sells it online but I didn't find it in the local store here.
Thanks. Toyota is much easier to service. My Mercedes requires special MB certified differential fluid that is so difficult to find. Dealer sells it for 3 times the price...

go with OEM spec and I used Mobil 1 before regearing. Now that ive regeared, I use Amsoil 75-140 now only.

Amsoil 75W-110 in the rear and Amsoil 75w-90 in the front.
Keeps the Revolution Gear 4.88's happy!
