Transfer case output shaft leak

Noticed the other day there were a few drops under where I park the truck. Looked under there and it was completely coated in oil. I knew I had a light oil leak but was awestruck when I pulled the check plug and nothing came out. I washed it off and added 1 quart of oil to it and still nothing came out. Very worried because My family and I took a road trip down to Colorado. About 514 miles one way, not including driving around town and what not.

Been keeping an eye on the truck but never noticed anymore drops. Finally I backed into the Driveway to unload some groceries and the next morning I had a actual basket ball sized puddle under the truck. Thought, damn thats not good. Brought it into my shop and was under looking around and its being spit out from the output shaft to the front drive line

Forgot to mention I have a 2003 V8 Limited. Currently around 185k Miles.

Going to the Stealership tonight to get the new oil seal and new stake nut that holds the flange in place. Will either tackle the job tomorrow afternoon or Sunday morning. Will post pics.

03 V8 transfer case output shaft bearing failure.

I had the same thing happen to my 03 V8, but since it was the wives ride I didn't notice it until it was too late. I'm trying to figure out which transfer cases are compatible with the 4runners with all wheel drive. If you or anyone has any info on this I'm on a tight budget and have searched for hours trying to get info with no results. I'm not trying to change the subject on this thread and would like to say thank you in advance for any help you guys have!

I have the same problem in my 2004 4.L V8 4x4 4Runner. A lot to fix it at the auto shop. I found a possible low mileage donor candidate locally for little money, but it's from a 2006 Tundra with the same motor (confirmed) and I think same 5 speed auto transmission the A750. But I'm not sure if the Tundra being a select gear type will mate with the full time 4x4.

This happened to me not to long ago I got the parts from Napa just two oil seals and I reused the same nut just made sure I un-staked it all the way. All in all worst part is removing the output companion shaft everything else is pretty straight forward.
