How do you take the transfer case off of the transmission? I have it all out of the truck yet cant seem to figure out how it unbolts from each other. It is on an 94 4runner automatic V6. Is there bolts on the inside of the transfer case that have to be undone to separate the trans from trans case? any help or schematics will be deeply appreciated. Does it have to be twisted off and does the transfer case separate individually from the transfer connector between the trans and transfer case? I stood it up on end and tried to hammer up with rubber mallet on edges yet it wont budge at all.

What i want to know is how many pages did he have to go back to dig this one up? Possibly a search, but i'd like to think he just went page after page after page.

gmyatko, you actually searched for the answer instead of just asking like most noobs do, so cheers to you, ignore those guys .
And the answer to the question is that the A340H auto behind the V6 is a one piece trans/t-case. The t-case doesn't separate from the trans like it does on a manual trans. You have to dis-assemble the whole thing.

Okay, fourwd1, you can take the ruler to my knuckles for being a smart-aleck! In all honesty, I didn't have a clue on the T-case, so I was hoping someone like you would chime in soon afterwards. I'll go sit in the corner now...

Im going to go ahead and say incorrect (about the search). Seems he's looking for questions to answer. If he had a similar problem and stated it, that i could understand.

If he is, that would be an odd way of doing it.
But I do see new people search and post like that (have the same problem and looking for an answer) quite often on this and other forums. Most forums want you to do that instead of asking a question that comes up frequently.
