Transmision question

made the fatal mistake of changing automatic transmision fluid in 99 4 runner with 190,000 miles. Question is i belive we put too much fluid in when we filled it up. 2 weeks late the cooling core in radiator burst and got antifreeze in trans and trans fluid in radiator. would over filling trans by .5 quart cause this ?

No. With 190k on the radiator, it simply died of old age.

The tranny cooler rupturing inside the radiator and mixing fluids is unfortunately a common problem. Search "strawberry milkshake" or "pink milkshake".
