Transmission aux cooler flow direction

Does anyone know which line on the factory aux trans cooler is the input line coming from the transmission? Ive found this pic on the web of a toyota cooler looking like its installed in a 4th gen like mine (05 V8 ) which appears to have the top line being used to pump out the trans fluid during an exchange procedure.

Has alone done a fluid exchange using the top line of the stock cooler as an output for the fluid? I'm about 95% sure the top is the input line to the trans so I want to install my temp sender on the lower line as it would seem to be the output FROM the transmission and would show the closest to actual converter temps...

I'm trying to do the measure 3 times cut once type of install here for my transmission fluid temp sender.

When I did my ATF flush, my trans pumped fluid from the transmission to the top of the radiator passenger side. assuming it would go from there to the cooler.

Easiest way to check is crack to the easiest line you find, hook a hose up to both sides, have someone start the car and then see where fluid is pumped from.

Seems to depend on year and what packages you have with the V8.

Thanks! After reading that thread, it sounds like the trans fluid fluid comes from the transmission, goes into the the top pass side of the radiator, comes out the bottom pass side then goes into the bottom of the aux cooler exiting the top then back into the trans. I'm thinking I'd like to get it before it enters the radiator to get the most accurate temp reading.
