Transmission bump...

New member. I've been having a problem after I come to a stop and let off the brake it feels like some one behind me bumped me. I've been told from the mechanics that it's a normal problem with the v6 and tramsmission I have. It has something to do with the fluids in the transmission having to raise back up after the stop.

So I started scearching the web and have not found any threads about this problem which made me believe that it's not that common. Has any body expreinced this happening with their 4runner. Mine is a 2008 that I bought new last year.

I'm feeling like I might be getting the run around.

Hey guys,

I just bought a 04' 4Runner 4wd, love the truck BUT, last night I felt the thump and then my truck was in "limp" mode. It was as if I had 50 horsepower. And it would barely shift gears, also when the rpm was getting up there it sounded like a supercharger ( that whining noise). This all lasted for 15 minutes i was driving, I then parked it and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. When I started it back up, it was back to normal.

Anyone else experience or heard of this problem???:wtf:

I just bought the 4runner "certified used" from a Toyota dealer, 117km's on it.
