I'm gonna do a running transmission cooling system. Most likely a Hayden 678 Cooler with Improved Racing thermostat. Which would you run?

Or do I just opt for the Hayden 163, yes it's cheaper but why not try to do it right?

I've never seen this product before, it looks really cool. I would go for the 185 because that's the upper temp range you want to operate at before doing any serious cooling.

I'm not entirely sure if a thermostat is necessary, though? I mean, the B&M 70268 cooler has viscosity ports to regulate cold/hot fluid built in. If that's not enough you can wire in a small fan with a thermo-switch to engage at that same degree.
 
The B&M 70264 has a LPD already built into it, beginning to open at 170 and fully opening by 185 or maybe even 180.

Take your savings and add a spin on ATF filter in the mix as well.
