transmission drip plug stuck

Hi everyone!

I did my 2nd drain and fill today.
Tranny shifts smoother and everything seems to be ok.
I filled up a bit more than I drained.
I was going to check the fluid lever but 5 mm Allen won't move. I soked with PB blaster with no luck.
Allen slipped 3 times I have tried so I decided to leave it.
Does anyone has similar problems?
I have no idea how to remove this bolt right now.

Put a blow torch on it for a bit to get it heated up and it should break free.

Disclaimer - don't start anything else on fire and don't melt anything. I don't recall but if the gasket is anything but metal, it must be replaced after this
 
I will probably drop off the pan and than try to remove it. Muffler pipe is full of rust That's why I don't wanna mess up with that as long truck runs good

5.5 mm is quite too big to fit in it

I don't really wanna force it cause pan doesn't look solid steel

Mine was rusted real bad. I was very surprised at how much force it took to break it free. I pulled and pushed so hard I thought I had bent the pan... I used PB blaster, a rubber mallet, a metal hammer to tap on the plug, I used my 1/2 drive socket wrench with the 5mm allen wrench socket. It finally broke free. I first started using a cheap allen wrench with pliers but it started to strip the rusted plug. I stopped and went and got the higher quality socket attachment.

If it is stripped round I would try one of those star wrench sockets which you could tap into the soft metal and hopefully have enough grip to break free. You could also look into one of those stripped screw removers. It could also be an option to try and drill it out, but you'd have to be real careful not to mess up the pan threads for the new replacement plug.

I replaced my old plugs with all new plugs from the dealer once they were all removed.

Use a cold chisel to make a cut like this, In the direction to remove the plug. Then use a punch and hammer and tap it loose.

If nothing else works have someone tack weld a nut onto the bolt, and take it off with a standard socket, then replace with new.

I like it! I usually go at it with a prick punch near the edge like that. Once I've got a hole started, I angle the punch to rotate the fastener. Anything that heats or vibrates the fastener will help free it, sometimes just whacking it with a hammer helps.

Another option is to grind a slot in it with a dremel, then turn it with a drag-link (straight-slot attachment for socket wrench).
 
I have a set of Wera "Hex Plus" hex wrenches for my bike, since there are some aluminum bolts that are easily damaged. They claim they can provide 20% more torque before damaging the bolt head than standard hex. They have a subtle concave shape on each hex face, which supposedly helps reduce the stress on the bolt.

They are expensive, but it's worth it if you avoid damaging bolts. If a regular 5mm hex wrench is spinning these won't help, of course. And don't use the ball end except for low torque like spinning things on. If you want to use that end you can cut the ball off.

Another trick I used once for a bolt with a shallow hex head is to cut the end of the wrench flat to remove the rounded corners and get a bit better engagement. If it's a soft bolt like aluminum, you can hammer the wrench in a little to make sure it's fully engaged. I also cut off the end if the wrench gets rounded off. With L shaped wrenches you can only do a few cuts before they are too short, but with T handle wrenches you can do that quite a few times.
