transmission fluid change

Made an appointment with Toyota to have my transmission fluid changed. I was asked if I want a drain and fill or a complete flush. I have 52000 miles and dont tow and drive normally most of the time.

Question:

Do I spend the extra $100 dollars and do the complete flush?

If it were me, i'd do a complete flush.

Appointment Friday morning going to the complete flush and have the the blower that freezes in the winter fixed on the TSB.

You only have 50k on yours. What's the point of doing flush?

If you ask to dealer, they will recommand flush. More money for them. If they are using same type fluid that you have on your car ( i'm guessing OEM ) then just drain/fill will do just fine.

yes I only have 52000 miles but the truck has been dependable I do all the work on my vehicles myself and I feel that the extra 100 for the complete flush is good insurance for the longevity of the trans. If the transmission wasn't the sealed type I might have done it myself. I never bring my vehicles to the stealer but I want Toyota do the work.

Yeah i hear ya. I think you are getting great deal on flush/fill tho, 100 bucks sounds not bad from dealer.

I did drain/fill at 70k and flush@100k milies, just because i switch to valvoline. I think i paid close to 100 bucks from local valvoline...I don't remember how much dealer told me tho.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, the flush is 100 dollars more than the drain refill. The drain refill is $80 and for an extra 100 = $ 180 full flush.
