Transmission Help!

I've done some research and could not find any similar incidents relating to the 4th generation 4runner. There are many posts concerning transmission shudder with the 5th generation though.

I have a 2007 SE 4Runner V8 2WD. I've noticed when slowing down, and then speeding up the transmission shifts but it's a very hard shift and clunk. It only happens during when slowing down and gradually speeding up most likely between 1st and 2nd gear. Anyone have any insight or experience with this? Thank you!!

How many miles are on it? I would check the fluid level or replace the fluid and clean the filter to start with.

35000 miles. Fluid level is good. I will look at the filter later. Thank you!

Have you greased the crap out of the slip yokes on the driveshaft? If not thats probably what it is.
