Transmission hoses diameter

So I used 5/16in hoses for my transmission lines to my cooler, but I've read some used 3/8th(which is 6/16) so my question is does the 1/16 make a difference or me using a hose 1/16 less going to cause any damage or did people just use 3/8 for the sake of making getting the hoses on 1/16th easier(yes I made a joke there)....

No. Usually ATF hose is more readily available IMHO in 3/8".

The lines are actually 10mm.

10mm = .394"
3/8" = .375"
5/16" = .312"

.394 - .312 = .082"

that's a 21% difference
.082" is quite a bit, I wouldn't do it, just one man's opinion.

Its a pain in the ass to use 3/8 stiff hose. I used an hose.
