Recently, my truck has been acting strange when in first gear and today it got a little worse, so I took a look. I know less than 0 about cars / trucks, so I am lost, but this is what I do know. The truck gets into Reverse / Drive / Neutral perfectly fine. When in drive and in first gear, the truck doesnt want to shift to the next gear. When I drop the truck into second gear, it shifts and then I put it back into Drive and it drives fine. I took it home immediately that this happened today where it woudn't shift out of first gear at all and popped the hood. 1. Oil is fine (checked while hot) 2. Transmission Fluid is fine (checked while hot)
a. The transmission dip stick was half way out of the hole though, I have put it back in 3. My coolant is empty...but the truck isnt leaking. Instead the cover to the coolant holder was popped off, but the tube was still in.
