well today i was on the highway and i was zooming in and out of traffic trying to get somewhere in a hurry. while zooming in and out of traffic, i was redlining the tranny alot and right when i got of the highway the entire truck shut off. i thought i blew the tranny but after i pulled over to try and start the truck again, it turned over just fine. after that the truck was driving normally with no problem. this happened to me once before already. does any one know why this happens or do i just need a new tranny? any info would be greatly appreciated.

How fast could you possibly have been going to red line the tranny? Personally for me, I would never go somewhere in such a hurry that it would hurt my baby. Not to sound like a smart a$$, but I do not think that the problem is with your truck, it might be your foot. I am not trying to start a fight, so please do not take it like that.

That has happened to me three times before while just driving normally on streets or right when i get off the highway (not redlining part). It finally quit and has not done it in over six months.

well i didint redline it myself, i just floored it because i have an automatic transmission and you know how they are. but i did notice that the a/t temp light went on along with the check engine light and another light but i did not catch what it was. but like i said the truck turned over on the first try and its been driving fine

yea well mine did the same thing sorta. i would drive and hit the gas and have no power to go. i would then pull over, turn her off, then back on and she would run fine. it did it about 4 times over about a month and then finally one day on the highway my transmission went out. had to get a tower to come get me and was about 3 grand for them to fix it.
