trasharoo with no rear spare tire

I'm looking to get a trasharoo for my 04 4runner, but I do not have a rear spare tire carrier. does anyone run the bag without the carrier? Or can anyone give me some insite on how I could use it before I decide to spend the money and get it?

I'm also looking at the trasharoo without the rear spare tire; did you see this setup..post #186 pic of a Highlander with trasharoo; but not sure if this would work in our 4runners...search continues.

I was wondering the same thing some time back. Could hang it off the rack but would block view out back window

Eventually I ended up just buying a closable nylon bag made to hold a med size trash bag inside. Folds up to nothing when not in use and keeps the trash bag protected enough to toss it around and not have it rip open anyway...

I won one last year at the FJNE raffle but haven't used it yet. I have a Gobi ladder and was thinking of trying to attach to that. Other than that the only thing I can think of is if you have a roof rack attach it to the back of a that like [MENTION=107119]2014 Warthog[/MENTION] said but then yes it is going to abstract your view.
