Traxda 3 inch lift feedback or advice?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and YES I did search A LOT!!! So much info and different opinions. I saw a lot of people use Daystar or Toytec for leveling kits. Has anyone used Traxda 3 inch/1.5? I was debating what to buy and I live in Hawaii so shipping is horrible out here. Most of the local shops are quoting 600-1300 for install and I still have to do alignment. Can you guys please help me out and give me your feedback.

I have a 2017 SR5 4R Base model. I don't off road and its my DD and I mainly do city and highway driving. I just want to level out my Runner. Im coming from the JDM scene and this is all new to me. I know how to lower and modify Japanese imports, but i Have no clue about 4runners. I've always wanted one so this is why I'm here. :bluejump:

Why such a big lift if you never go off-road and all you're looking to do is level the stance? A 3-inch spacer lift in front would cause major headaches with suspension travel, ride quality, and alignment. Why not just do a ~1" lift in front and leave the rear alone? Much less installation cost too. $600-$1,300 for a spacer lift install seems way too high in any case, even for the Aloha State.

Yes, that's what the local shop has in stock. I was thinking of maybe buying online and hip something to hawaii to save cost. Just pay installation feee.

Would you recommend daystar or toytec? Or is there something else that's out there?

Doesn't look either Daystar or Toytec have options for a 1" front lift, but Cornfed does (see item 5G4R-1FR):

10-16* Toyota 4Runner Cornfed Suspension Lift kits

Shouldn't cost that much to ship a $50 item to Hawaii. That would level your stance, and should cost less to install since you'd only be doing the front.

P.S. Website says "10-16" but the '17s are the same.

Btw- what would the pro bs con be if I did the daystar or toytec? I've read some mixed reviews. I'm looking to save some cash , but do it right and have my runner drive like stock still

If spacer is all you need then I would check out supreme suspensions. They are on amazon, so you might be able to save a bit on the shipping side of things. Apart from that, they are excellent quality billet aluminum spacers and the regular poly rear spring spacer for a great price. I paid about $90 for my front 3" and 1.5 inch rear spacer all together

Thanks for the advice. I was reading that some people said Daystar spacers sag after awhile and Cornfed are made of hard plastic so they don't sag. Also toytec was metal so the rise was worse or it made noise? I'm a bit lost in what the best option is for (looks) and daily driving in the city and NO OFF ROADING.

Looks like you are unsure as to what you want. Do you want a leveling kit for the front end only or lift the rear as well?
If you are going to stick with stock tire/wheel combo, I would suggest front 1" lift. There are couple of options if you decide to go this route...Spacer made out of poly(Cornfed, Daystar) or metal spacer (Toyotec, Burtman Industries) or swap out existing coil with a taller one(Dobinsons).

It sounds like you are on the same boat as I was when I bought my rig 2 months ago.

I was unsure of what lift to get and didn't want to dish out hundreds of dollars for a suspension when I do most of my driving on-road. Just like you I wanted to lift my rig without breaking the bank.

I found a guy on the Facebook 4Runner group page selling his used Toytec 2.5" (front) and Cornfed 1" (rear) leveling kit for just $100. It was a steal I couldn't pass. I did the install myself. If you're familiar with suspension install with tuner cars then you should be able to do it on the 4Runner. It's actually a lot easier on the 4Runner because there's a lot more space.

So after a few weeks riding with the 1" rear Cornfed spacer I didn't like the slight reverse rake. Another guy on this forums was selling his 2" Toytec Superflex springs so I bought them and replaced my rear springs/spacers.

Now my rig is exactly where I want it. My suggestion is to shop around for deals. There are a bunch of people selling used parts. Take your time and don't get ripped off by those local shops. Do your research and save the money by installing it yourself.

"Preload" is not an issue in any event. A spacer doesn't change the amount the springs are compressed under the weight of the vehicle at rest, or under suspension loading, as they are constant-rate springs.

Suspension travel is limited with a spacer lift, but that's not an issue either if you never go off road.

OP, I think a 1" spacer lift will work just fine for your stated needs. The Dobinson's coils would work fine too, of course, but they'd probably cost more to buy and to ship. For this application, any difference in ride quality would likely be negligible.

I had a Daystar spacer lift on my 4th gen for 11 years until I traded it in on my 2014. It never sagged and it was off road a lot.

Aloha! Thanks brah for the 411. You know how the Police love lifted cars and lowered tuners in hawaii lol. . I'll look into the used area and take my time with this. Thanks again for the info! I like the look of ur runner too.
