Regardless. Zimmerman was playing cop and we all know a CCL doesn't give you the right to do that. He makes us all look bad and deserves to be punished. Maybe not murder 1, but some kind of punishment.

Lets say GZ didn't have a gun and followed the exact same steps. He basically saw something suspicious, followed, and got into a confrontation. It wouldn't be as big a deal most likely.

I guess in my eyes, the gun issue comes into play at the moment he decided to use it. If he was indeed on his back, head busted, and getting pummeled then he did what he thought was necessary.

But if he went in gun drawn and looking to kill, that's a different story. If he thought that having the gun gave him increased leverage to go after someone, that too is just irresonsible.

I'm just glad we've graduated from the images of the sweet innocent 13 year old... one of those texts about getting popped in the chest was a bit eerie.

Yah then we get into the nitty gritty of what constitutes picking a fight... following someone is not picking a fight. Physical action is picking a fight. If TM did a little hide around a corner and jumped on him as originally explained, then he picked the fight.

I'm not saying either are right... Just that circumstance is everything and its hard to be right when you are dead.

I wonder what Obama did to punish him for these texts and pics...was it a stern lecture to Trayvon at the dinner table or did he send TV to his room without dessert? Just wondering. None of us was there. No one can definitively say exactly what happened.

I've also heard that Trayvon was bashing Zimmerman's head into the ground, and Zimmerman shot in self-defense.

If that is true, that would make Zimmerman the victim.


What we DO know, is that the Media went to great lengths to portray Trayvon as an innocent little child, minding his own business. That perception was reinforced by their posting pics of him when he was a little kid.

Funny how pics of Trayvon as he looked and portrayed himself at the time of his death, didn't get nearly the (or any?) exposure in the Media.

You then claim that nothing tragic could ever befall because you wouldn't do this. I got news for ya... Bad circumstances could happen to any of us. Our judicial system is in place to help people get a fair shake and to defend themselves.

Great, lets discuss the fact that you don't want to discuss this some more in the off topic section of the discussion board first though. I don't think I've read enough about that yet.

To be fair, I simply posted about the texts and photos. Other people were interested in rehashing the old stuff all over again.
