TRD + 98' 4Runner

I own a 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited, I am considering adding several TRD components to the car.

I would want to add:
Supercharger
Headers
Single Catback
Transmission Cooler

I am very particular about my car and what goes on it, I would like to only have genuine Toyota parts, however the TRD Supercharger alone is $3200.
Comparing the costs to other performance manufacturers, there are large price differences.

What are some pros and cons to adding only TRD components?
Is TRD worth all of that money? And why is TRD so expensive?
Would non Toyota parts be more worth my money?
How much added power would come from the addition of these components?

I spoke with a Toyota Dealer today, and they said that TRD is starting to change and is going to start to limit or even stop production of their older components. I would want to take advantage of the TRD parts sooner than later. However that means big bucks $$$$$!

Its a lot of questions but any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Personally I would not add a super charger. If you are looking for a long life for your engine I would not recommend one either. Engineers designed that engine as is. Adding a bunch of junk that will help your 0-60 time is foolish IMO. Headers are the most I would go with.

i kinda agree. i would want a long-lasting 4runner. which i have about 143k miles now. but if you do add a super charger, take apart your whole engine and clean it. so you can get the FULL amount of hp you could get along with that supercharger.

Go over to yotatech.com and do a search on buying a charger since there's more to it than just slapping the charger on the engine plus you can get them new for solidly under $2000 if you spend some time to look and be patient.
If you want to continue to save money go for a Magnaflow muffler and save over half of what the TRD exhaust would cost plus TRD headers aren't cheap either but you can get Edelbrock and some others considerably cheaper. You're mostly paying for the TRD badge when you buy the TRD parts. You also should add a few other fuel delivery parts to prevent preigniton or pinging and you'll obviously have to use premium fuel once you add the forced induction.

I think a lot there are a lot of other quality manifactures that you could get more bang for your buck. Although some trd badges would look pretty sweet.

I've been tossing the idea up for some while too on adding a s.c. to mine, yet I still want to keep the T4R for a while. He says, if properly maintained, they can go a 100,000 miles and longer. check it out:
