TRD CAI 2 types?

I went to my local dealer to purchase a TRD CAI, and the one they gave me is different than the one I see everyone posting on here. According to the dealer, the one they sold me is a new version that is 50 state legal (comes w/a carb #sticker) and that the older version was for off-road use only. Another difference I notice is that the "older" model has an aluminum plate on the top of the airbox and uses a cone type filter. The "newer version, the airbox is all plastic with what looks like the TRD drop in replacement filter.

Does anyone know anything about these and if there is a performance difference between the two?

I'm wondering if I should just return the one I purchased at the dealer because it seems like I would get the same result as going with the TRD drop in filter. If I do return it, anyone know where to find the "older" version?

Do you have any pics of it? As far that I was aware of TRD stop making the CAI from AFE. anyway all of the intakes that are a CAI that replace the factory intake have cone air filters be it a dry filter or a oil based one. if its just a filter it is not a CAI. do you have a V-6 or a V-8? TRD did not make a intake for the V-8.
