TRD Oil Cap Differences

Did a search and could not find an answer. There are 2 different types of TRD Oil Caps but neither specify if they're for the 5th generation 4Runner

PTR04-12108-02

PTR35-00110

Are these basically the same and just cosmetically different? Also can anyone verify that the TRD radiator cap for the 5th generation 4Runner is PTR04-00000-03? Thanks!

Both will work.

PTR04-12108-02 is the one that shows up on US parts sites.

I've PTR04-12108-02. I think it looks better even though it cost $10 more. As for radiator cap: it is hidden under plastic shroud, so unless you need it for more pressure and not for looks there is no way to show it.

The shiny caps seal better, the better sealing leads to higher oil pressure which helps with quicker variable valve timing changeover providing more power at lower RPMs. Get with it.

Same as the people who purchase blacked out emblems or swap to the TRD show bits, it's all for the looks. Nothing wrong with it, just depends on people's priorities.

Eye Candy. There is nothing wrong with doing that. Same can be said about anything such as: who needs 4 in lift and 33 in tires just to drive around city and never go off road. Uniqueness can be attained in many different ways. Everyone's its own.

They gave me one after they left off/lost the OEM cap after an oil change.

Looks nice. It's probably the only shiny/not rusted part of the engine.

The PTR35-00110 does not fit my 2016 vehicle.

PTR04-12108-02 does.
