Unhook a speed sensor connector, That will disable it real quick.... I have no idea why someone would want to disable ABS... Also, pretty sure 4Lo disables it, but you won't be going very fast anyway.
It's a requirement for off road driving. Stopping distances without ABS is drastically reduced in Sand/Mud. I've done it on all my Tacoma builds but still trying to figure out how to install an interrupt switch for the New 4Runners.
ABS is Dangerous and frightening at speed in sand trails.

You don't need it on the 4runner. When in 4hi, use the MTS hi setting, it allows wheels to stop and dig in without releasing all of the brakes.
I had an ABS disable switch in my old Taco, I know exactly what you are talking about..
My ABS is temporarily disconnected as a result of the shop installing the Toytec lift and 285s stretching an ABS sensor line. As a result, crawl control and the terrain select are disabled. Still waiting on the wiring harness and ABS line parts to come in. I'm not sure how doing the mod you mention would affect crawl/terrain select but it may disable them based off what I've experienced.

I'm pretty familiar with off-road driving. LOL, but there are many different kinds. I'm usually always in 4Lo conditions, so no issue for me. The few times I've been in 4Hi conditions I'm good in 2wd... Mud is something I avoid unless there is no other way and brakes are usually not part of that equation. if they were... again 4Lo. I guess there are some use cases... but I think it's pretty rare. Guess the old MTS does come in handy in this case.

I'm not sure I would generalize it with "Requirement", I keep forgetting to slice up a wheel speed sensor wire to a switch for my VSC/TRAC OFF switch in my 4th gen and I can confidently say that even in mud and fine sand ABS isn't that bad in most cases. That being said not having ABS and the wheels locking up will cause further stopping distance (just as it does when the ABS increases stopping distance to prevent wheel slip and maintain steerability).
Hitting the brakes hard in sand or mud is frightening in general, ABS or not; you either have ABS increasing stopping distance to give you control. Or your just locked and sliding whichever direction momentum is carrying you without ABS. It's even more fun when you're doing it down a ridiculously steep hill and your brakes are just flat locked up from the top and all you're doing is increasing speed as you slide down the entire slope (super fun and not at all butt puckering! *Sarcasm*)
In any case you want ABS gone? Cut a speed sensor wire, just do yourself a favor and trace it to where it doesn't have shielding; repairing shielded wire is a pain...
