trd pro avaliabilty?

over the weekend, i went to look for an second car.. and all the toyota dealership in norcal does not have any 4runner in stock.. I asked for an trd pro and all i got was a 'good luck'

is the pro that hard to get now? what's everyone wait time on it? not to mention.. there wasn't a single tacoma on any lots..

It's getting close to the end of the year. What do you expect?
 
Was thinking the same thing, I'm wondering if the TRD Pro is scarce because of a niche off-road crowd that would actually utilize the suspension modifications from the factory.

Was considering trading my friend who just picked up a TRD Pro for my Limited, as he wanted a Limited but had to settle for a TRD Pro.

The '15 4Runners have been out of production since June. Throw that together with some simple math and you'll see it's going to be next to impossible to find. Just wait till the '16s start getting off the boats at the end of the month.

What modifications? That thing isn't any more capable off-road than an SR5. I would argue that a Trail with KDSS with stock bridgestones would probably be even more capable, with the stock Bridgestone tires.

dollar says the dealership charged him MSRP or more on the pro too. Poor sap got robbed because he didn't know any better

Once the 2016s start rolling in, don't sit on your hands too long before trying to negotiate a lower price on a 2015, if that is what you want to do. Your time window isn't that big.

If you want a baby crap color TRD Pro, I would wait until the spring. Sometimes you can't wait, you need a car NOW.

Now a 2015 Chevy Malibu, that might be different.
 
People really have too much money to blow on something that has no benefit in utility. If only people would realize if you buy a SR5 or Trail and then spend the $ difference into mods like a lift, tires, sliders, etc....its wayyy better vehicle for the same price (to a PRO). Anytime I see someone with a PRO, I think suckerrrrr, while realizing these are the same people that buy Ford Raptors. Just so they can look cool driving around sipping their Starbucks.

a For Raptor actually yields performance its not an appearance package, so comparing the two is a bit silly
 
Just going from experience of NEVER seeing a Ford Raptor off of pavement. Plus how many people actually use the Raptor for its intended purpose? Maybe 3 people that bought one. Its a bloated big ass monstrosity not intended for 'real' offroading. Just made to be a go fast baja in wide open spaces....not too many places like that in the country. Or, if there are, you're running people off dirt roads and being a hazard.

I wasn't comparing them only in utility necessarily, but in the mindframe of people who purchase these two vehicles.

I bought an inferno TRD Pro for 41k. Wife already has a Trail plus I liked it in Inferno.

I feel i made a very good purchase for the money. I don't plan on moddling suspension or adding bigger tires since its my daily driver. That's why I have the TJ for

Yea I dont get the hate from non TRD Pro owner. Could it be jealousy to some degree? Possibly but why are we having such a stupid discussion. In the end they're all 4Runners and isn't that what we're here for?

How about we just bash Hummer H2s and 3s like everyone else

I wanted a pro or a tep. They were both hard to come by is LA in the specs that i wanted, ie color. Ya i could have gotten a tep for 2k less but I got a nice 4runner with shinny red springs, clean wheels and fake leather. I'm happy with my purchase and don't think I'm better than anyone else on here. There are some clean rides on here that inspire me for future upgrades for my 4runner. Most of us all have the same concept in mind and that is to go out and enjoy your ride.

I'm not trying to incite an argument. It just doesn't make sense. I buy what I want and like with my deployment money just as anyone else does with money they've earned.
