I’m about to sign and buy my new 2018 Trd pro. I was wondering if the infamous tsb clunk shock was only for older models?? Should mine be ok n no need for tsb??? Thanks

From what I have read, the clunk applies only to models that had a bracket installed wrong, so it is more of a random thing.

That being said, I have not experienced the clunk with mine.

My 2016 had the front struts replaced under warranty. Clunked horribly when the temperatures dropped.

I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens; get it fixed by the dealer. Simple.

My understanding is the TSB was issued mid 2016 and PRO’s as of late 2016 came with the updated struts (P/N ending in 160). All of the 2017 should have the updated struts. I haven’t seen anyone complaint about the clunk with the updated fix.

Correct statement. PTR13-89160 (LF / RF) are the superceded part #'s for the struts. TRDP models equipped at port after the TSB have the redesigned struts. A simple visual inspection of the part # on the strut will confirm.
The new struts were installed on my early 2016 TRDP just days ago under warranty. What a difference - sure seems like a valving change over the previous model.

I wasn't aware of the clunk until I read this thread. I just checked my 2016 TRDP and it looks like I have the old struts as the part# ends in 150. Never had the clunk though....yet.
