TRD Pro: Flatulence and Noise fixes?

I haven't been on the forum in a long time, did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Previously people were complaining about two things:

1. Gas/Flatulence smell coming into the car (from the exhaust) when the rear hatch window was down. Has anyone come up with a fix other than don't put the rear hatch window down?

2. There's a noise/vibration/creak/clunk sound coming from what seems like the driver's side front of the car when I'm driving. It's slightly annoying but I'm used to it by now, but wondering if anyone ever figured out how to fix that?

I've never had problem one and ride with my rear window down all the time.

Never noticed problem 2 either, though I have read there was an issue with the Pro shocks hitting the vehicle underbody at the rear of the vehicle. At the port they grind away a little bit of metal to keep the clunk from happening. I guess some mechs are better at doing this correctly than others...

I notice the exhaust smell most when all windows are up and back window is down, for my dog, when I am accelerating. It helps when I open front windows to direct wind flow out back window.

I do not have the noise you describe in the front end.

The exhaust smell is due to the tail pipe coming straight back. The exhaust gases just eddie behind the vehicle and get drawn in from the rear window being down. You can have the tail pipe orientated to the side of the truck. That will help greatly.. although there may be a faint smell still... but not nearly as much

Certain TRD Pros have the "TRD Pro Clunk" (Search here to find more). Essentially, as I understand, the front struts affected had a dampening issue; especially when cold, which would cause an almost mechanical thud or clunking sound.

There's a TSB for it; dealer should be able to diagnose and likely cover under warranty.

FWIW I too experience exhaust smells even with all windows up and the vents on recirc; it is me, myself and I. Fortunately, I usually drive alone.

As for the road noise--

I had a "rattle" or clunking sound at highway speed. Since I park under a tree most of the time, I thought it sounded like some leaves or maybe a small branch were catching some wind and rattling against the vehicle.

I cleaned the truck, looked for anything loose, and couldn't find anything.

Took it in for an oil change, and explained the noise. A tech was able to quickly isolate to the driver's side rubber mat (near the shocks) that apparently is not securely fastened to the frame. He wrapped the gap between the mat and "button" screws with silicon tape a few times to take up the gap/slack.

He told me that he gets a few trucks a month with that issue, and the fix is the same. It was done in June and I haven't had the rattle since.

Perhaps that is it.
