It's not more expensive from the research I've done.
I'd send you something real nice for the dimensions once it's cut. My neighbor and his plasma cutter are waiting

Do the original plastic "skid plates" covers come out and the TRD goes in place of them?
Does the plate interfere with the lower front bumper valence?

Yes, there are four bolts you remove for the factory skid. There is also a few smaller bolts/plastic tabs for the plastic piece that attaches behind the bumper valance (this piece is not re-used).
Does the plate interfere with the lower front bumper valence?
No, there is plenty of clearance between the plate and the valance.

It will look like this. Should be a 5 minute mod. (Although IMO it's one of the last things I'd swap. There are many more vulnerable parts underneath. I would be much more concerned about getting a proper skid under the transfer case and crossover pipe. The stock steel skid plate is really just a rock deflector. What's behind isn't very vulnerable. I think it would be very hard to damage something behind it.)

I bought One of the TRD skids and tried to see if I could make it work, didn't have any luck. It's not just the sway bar, but the hydraulic ram and the supports that are different. It would take quite a bit of fabricating to make it work. Ended up doing a full,set of bud builds and sold the TRD skid to my brother.

Looking a little further into this, there seems to be only one part number for all the 5th gen 4runners. Look at the compatibility list at the bottom.
If this is the case then at least the bolt pattern will match. I'm not sure if the body lines will be in the way though?

Anyone put one on a 2010-2013 4runner? Specifically trail edition. I was hoping to put one on mine. Will obviously have to cut for KDSS, but otherwise wondering if the bolts will line up for the older 5th gens.

I wondering the same too. I’m currently in the process of converting my 2010 trail to the 2016-2018 Trd Pro. The part number stock skid plate on 2010 is the same on the 2014+ version, as far as I know.

Reviving a dead one here...anyone with kdss that has removed the 2 lower brackets to put on the trd plate still have brackets lying around? Willing to part with them? I tossed mine a while back and am now wanting to take my trd plate off and want to put thos brackets back on. I will pay all costs to northern Colorado if need be
