Why not get a much better aftermarket skid plate that fits without modification, for probably less money?
It's not more expensive from the research I've done.

I have a professional machinist cutting my TRD skid plate to fit for a 2015 Trail Edition with KDSS... bought it on ebay and live in Canada, easier to modify then return! will post pictures once it is installed.
Now, how about..... 2010-2013? 2014+ LE?
Scott,I just installed a TRD skid on my 15 Limited this past weekend with zero problems. You will be glad you changed it out, because the stock one is a joke!!!

Do the original plastic "skid plates" covers come out and the TRD goes in place of them?
Yes, there are four bolts you remove for the factory skid. There is also a few smaller bolts/plastic tabs for the plastic piece that attaches behind the bumper valance (this piece is not re-used).
Does the plate interfere with the lower front bumper valence?
No, there is plenty of clearance between the plate and the valance.
I can take pictures later today, if you want to see how it looks.
Anyone put one on a 2010-2013 4runner? Specifically trail edition. I was hoping to put one on mine. Will obviously have to cut for KDSS, but otherwise wondering if the bolts will line up for the older 5th gens.
