Just saying, I regret going for the TRD Pro skid. Removing it everytime for an oil change is definitely a PITA. There are others out there with a removable trap door to gain access to the filter. If I could do it all over again, I would have sprung for one of those... TRD Pro skid was an impulse buy when at the stealership last year. But they sure do look purdy!!

Thanks, I've read that but unless I'm missing something he wrote that about the discontinued version he links to in the post. So it looks like it was prior to this new 2018/2019 TRD with the red lettering that is on sale through the TRD 40% sale. Wondering if this new one fits. Again, unless he addresses this in that post and I'm just missing it.

No filter port. No kdss option. Ricey loud ass red lettering that would get destroyed and/or rip off at some point just like the stupid ass trd valances (which reduce approach and departure angles). To each their own but there are way better aftermarket options that won't turn your truck into a hotwheels.
Additionally those inserts are a toyota cash grab. They know they can keep people coming back for replacements just like the valances. I refuse to replace my rear valance after some mud ripped off all the clips and mounting points (What is the point if it's going to keep happening?). Hoping to run into some SR5 take offs.

Look at the first quoted post. That guy bought a 19 and put it on his older 4runner with no fitment issues, and per the article I posted it said the 2017 fit on a 2010 in the comments. So I assumed unless you have a TE with a different suspension, everything fits with OEM finish.
My logic could be wrong though?

His older runner is a 2018 which is in the range that the new plate says it fits (2018 and 2019). I've got a 2017 which the parts website doesn't include in it's fitment.
Here is one spot where SlvrRnnR says he went into a 2018 Off Road. I do appreciate the help though. I'm multi tasking and trying to get this done so it's very likely I missed something.

I have a 2017 and even though I saw the parts website said the new skid plate doesn’t fit, I ordered one to give it a shot. Seems weird that it wouldn’t fit, but I’ll report back one it comes in...
Just ordered one last week and installed it a few days ago. 2015, fit fine, shipped and delivered in less than a week. Think I paid about $250 for it. Came with red inserts already installed. Looks great.
