TRD Snorkel on 4runner

Hadokyn is running a TRD snorkel on his 5th gen. After browsing his IG he mentioned RPM Offroad Garage was able to hunt one down for him. He is running aftermarket fenders so I am not sure about fitment.

Hate to go off topic, but what type of tire carrier is that? It doesn’t appear to be a hitch type?

looking at his IG page, there's a front end pic taken in a self-wash station. fitment along the A-Pillar looks f*king awful. like you said, aftermarket fenders probably aren't helping, but it just looks wrong

reminds me of the car scene... People make it look amazing in pictures then you see the car at a show or in person and makes you wanna throw up how bad it is.

Not saying this is the case but take anything on IG with a grain of salt am i right? :pop2:

To the OP wanting to do this - try it and report back.

Whenever I think of snorkels i think of pierce brosnan in dantes peak.

Tjm

I’m in Montana where we don’t get massive rainstorms but sure so get a lot of snow. I’m running the TJM snorkel and have been since it was first released for the 5th gen (just over a year now). It sits up off the windshield be about an inch. In downpours and big snow storms that I have driven I have looked in the air box afterwards and it was dry. Not sure where buick is getting his information on the TJM but from my experience (and that posted above me) sounds like the TJM is just fine in all weather conditions. Call me crazy, but have also been through a car wash with it. No issues or water in the box.

I dont have a snorkel yet but yes there are several threads talking about snow pack and rian going up the windshield and into the mouth of the snorkel with the TJM, thats just what Im reading everywhere

Advantages of snorkel?

I am in Arizona so dust IS a issue. Do these snorkels help the motor run cooler as well? I assume you will suck cleaner air by having intake up higher. I am NOT a U Boat commander so I could care less about water protection. But before I cut a perfectly good fender what want solid evidence it would keep my intake cleaner. Thanks!
