TRD Supercharger & Hood

So I still have the S/C (still sits in box) and awaits to be installed because I am debating a 97 landcruiser. if any pics are wanted I would be happy to post just tell me what you want to see!

The supercharger belts wear out a lot quicker than the other belts. I had the 1st generation supercharger (grey one) and I had one snap while driving down the freeway. It only had around 50,000 miles on the belt. I don't know exactly why, but they tend to weaken easier. I don't know the 2nd gen charger (black) improved upon this. Plus most places don't carry a supercharger belt. I broke my belt in the middle of nowhere, but luckily I had the belt with me. It's just a safety precaution.

I believe I have a first generation supercharger (Flatter Gray TRD)... I drive a 3rd gen 4Runner tho, is that the same scenario you were talking about when you used to have that set up?

I was wondering if you ever had to service it or do anything to it maintenance-wise other than belts. I bought mine with 167,000 miles on it, and I haven't washed it in a while (engine), I'm noticing some grime on the backside of the supercharger? Any clue what this is and if it is normal or bad???

Gunk on supercharger...

Does anyone have one of these gray superchargers that I posted pictures of previously on this post, and if so, can they answer my question about that gunk coming out of the back of it?!
