TRD Tacoma Tailights?

Was thinking of getting some VHT red taillight paint and painting my tails to look like the new 2016 twilight. Does anyone know if it's been done before?

It would be an aesthetic improvement. However from a safety standpoint, I have always hated vehicles with red turn signals... which is essentially what you would be creating here. To me, they just don't stand out the same way a flashing amber light does. I'd even bet they get rear ended more often if anyone were to ever do a study on such a thing.

The goal isn't necessarily red blinkers its fully red (minus the reverse) taillights. I'm okay with the blinker coming on and amber showing through but when its just sitting there I'd rather it show all red. But still an interesting thought nonetheless...

Not trying to sound like a safety nut though. Would be cool if the light still appeared amber through the tail light paint. Maybe you could find some transparent red film and try it out. Peel it off if you don't like it.

I'm definitely leaving the indicators amber for now, but I'll see what I can do to test before. Good idea!
