TRD Throttle Body "O" Gasket

i tried using a box cutter knife, but quickly gave up, then i got the dremel out and used the heavy duty metal cutting disc. worked wonders!

Nice! thans guys i think im going to cut mine. none of the dealerships even cary that gasket here. so ya may end up buying a dremel cause i need one and its a nice tool to have around. I dont want to take this thead off topic but just a quick quesion on the dremel tool, ive heard the 2 speed ones are bad news should i pay the $70 for the nicer one with multiple speeds or save $20 and get semi nice 2 speed one??

I made the mistake of buying the TRD O-gasket from the dealer, and they charged me like $10 or something. Should I still use RTV gasket-maker with the TRD paper gasket, as I did with the 'yota D-metal gasket?

Now, between the TRD springs on my front struts and this O-gasket, I can justify buying a TRD decal for my 'Runner

well the "D-shape" one is at rockauto for $2. Is it really worth paying the premium? I have found a circular one at amazon for about $18. Can I cut the D one out?

My understanding is that the D shape creates some turbulence and prevents the whistle/whine effect of air passing through the TB. I get a bit of a whistle/whine when I accelerate and then it fades away as the vacuum differential subsides.

Just a guess...my gasket is a handcut rubber/cork gasket material for a solid sealing. You do get a smidgen of added response.

Just came across this thread as I just changed my valve cover gaskets and cleaned the throttle body. I took one look at the d shaped gasket and thought, what in the world!? Why would they use a gasket that restricts air flow?

Has anyone done this and actually noticed any difference? If it's worth while I'll take the gasket off and cut it. Othwise im not going to waste the time. Sounds like the only thing this will accomplish is potentially producing more intake noise as mentioned above

I did this mod and now wow. My truck accelerates likes a Porsche and flys with unicorn wings if the sun is at it apex and ...... try it you'll like it

I'm having trouble finding this part now. I tried the 2 part number i found here and nothing comes up. I found one that looks very similar part number PTR29-60030 . is this the one? (almost 50$ now, guess i missed the good ol days here)

Toyota discontinued all supercharger related parts which includes the "O" shaped gasket. I recommend buying it from LC Engineering instead, they have several kinds and are quality parts. They are a Toyota only performance retailer and I've purchased many parts from them and have the gasket you need starting at $2.95:

you could take a stock gasket and cut it from a D shape to the O shape. I have the TRD O gasket...and i saw no magic in it...just its shape.
glad other suppliers have them now... as listed above....maybe i will get one...otherwise...like I said...ill just take a stock one and cut it if I need to

Originally I was going to but I figured why not buy a legit one first, and dremel out the D shape ones if it works well? For me too, I've reused this one like 3 times and it needs replaced so I said what the hell, payday was today
