3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner (96-02) Lift Parts (TRD Tundra Lift)

Is that a "proper" LC / Tundra lift?

It doesnt look like the right parts. If you have the correct TRD parts to do it like a Sonoran steel lift, you wouldn't need a top spacer. Also those shocks are yellow but real Toyota shocks, at least mine were Brown.

how do you define "proper"? we all have tons and tons of different set ups that work great.

The Tundra Coil lift everyone is going for is the one that Steve at Sonoran Steel sells. Only some people don't want to pay him $1300 for a full kit with instructions.

There are very specific parts involved. You cannot just go with some LC coils by some manufacturer. I am on my phone now so i can't post a link but trust me - it does matter.

Yes you can put a variety of lift parts on these trucks but it may ride like crap. IMO most guys who piece their own lifts together do it 2-3 times withi 2 years because it rides like crap. I am all for do it yourself but if anyone is going to copy the SS 1.2 kit, well just make sure you have the exact same parts.

The ad says nothing about a SS 1.2 kit and doesn't even include lc coils... i think what makes a trd/lc coil lift is the coils... we run all kinds of different shocks.

Those are the same blue and yellow Toyota billies that I got from a Tundra for my lift. The front end setup is correct. The top plate spacers are added to give more than 2" of lift since the struts aren't adjustable...its the same front setup Fightman has. The rear shocks, I wouldn't know, I went with OME. To agree with hungryeddy, the guy doesn't mention SS kits at all, just that this stuff is used for as a lift.
However, this guy is asking way too much for this setup, especially since one would still need to buy rear springs. I paid $350 for everything for mine, and didn't have worn out bushings. I wouldn't give that guy $200, let alone $300.

Here's some Tundra TRD 2x4 shocks and coils. I've heard these are softer than the 4x4, but provide the same lift. Might be worth checking out. No guarantees on height or ride though.

You never know. I'd ask him anyway. I live in Indiana and bought mine off a guy in San Fran. Cost me $48 to ship and he wanted $50 for the setup...I offered $90 and he took it.

when i bought mine the seller wrapped the two assemblies in a piece of cardboard and packing tape. it made it and it was only $30 from wyoming.[

so i found out that the last link posted those coils are from a 2wd trd AC tundra wit color codes yellow/purple and yellow/red ao i did some research and found out on some tundra forums that these give identical ride height as the 4x4 trd tundras so i'm gonna go pick them up next week. anyone know if my facts are correct or wrong?

I can't confirm it's true, but that's what I read from other sources. Just get some 5100's with them and you should be good to go.
