TRD Wheels with Tundra Brake Upgrade

Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the 6 spoke TRD FJ wheels will fit over the 231mm Tundra Calipers. I've got everything sitting here to do the brakes and I really like the looks of these wheels but I don't want to buy anything without knowing if they will fit over my brakes. These are the wheels I am talking about.

I searched and couldn't find any conclusive evidence. The closest thing I found was [MENTION=58830]JWaldz[/MENTION] said he believes that they will fit in a thread that I read but no one could confirm. I believe that [MENTION=106327]GVL[/MENTION] is running these wheels, but it sounds like he has the 199mm calipers and not the 231mm.

Yeah they fit fine. I have the 231s and wheels in question.

I was in the same dilemma but thought I read that some trimming may be required with the 231 and clearance was real tight in another spot. I don't tow anything or carry heavy loads but I definitely wanted more stopping power on the trail so I just went with the 199 to be safe and everything fit perfect and the improvement was tremendous. However if I did tow frequently I would have held out for the 231's.

I don't tow either, but I do occasionally carry heavier loads. I figured I might as well get the biggest brakes while I'm in there working on them.

So just to confirm, these wheels fit the 231mm calipers? Because I found a full set on CL for 500.00.

Glad I found this thread, I ordered those wheels just last week without knowing if the Tundra brakes would work with them. Its nice to know i won't need spacers.

i currently have those wheels with no spacers and did the tundra brake mod (231mm) they are perfect fit, you won't have any problem

Awesome! Just ordered these from eBay for $600 for a set of 4 and trusting those here that they will clear the 231mm tundra brakes.

The newer FJ/4th gens have the 231mm brakes. So they have to work with them.
