TRD--When?

My brother has recently installed the new 4.0l supercharger on his new Tacoma and says it is awesome, but loud. I wonder why they do not show an application for the the 5th Gen T4R? What are the differences in the engine management etc. that keeps the T4R from the supercharger when the Tacoma and FJ are eligible? Can one of you more knowledgeable forum members elaborate?

This version of the 4.0 has dual VVIi.
Yep, we've got the more complicated engine.

I called TRD the other day and they told me that the CAI for the 5th Gen was released on Dec. 29th. The guy could not provide me with an MSRP and suggested I contact my local dealership. I then called the parts dept. of my dealer and they had to call TRD to get the info about the CAI since there wasn't any info for it yet. The parts dept. said the new CAI is $475 and limited availability right now.....a little much for my blood right now.
I then called AFE to see when they would be releasing their CAI since they have made the TRD intake in the past. The guy at AFE told me that they no longer make TRD's intake and they do not have a vehicle for R&D right now so no word on a CAI. If anyone is near Corona CA, you might be able to get a deal if you vol up your truck for research.

Wonder who's making them now? Based on previous TRD CAI's, $400 is the norm........$475 seems a little high. Only time will tell.
