Treadwright Tire Feedback needed

Hey guys I recently saw a post on here where someone bought some tires from TreadWright.com. I was wondering if anyone else on here has already had some on their truck that they have put a number of miles on.

My big concern is the fact that these tires are retreads. I've done some research on the net and can't find any negative reports about their tires. I do love the fact that I can get knockoff Goodyear Wrangler MT's @285/70/17's for about $130 a tire versus about $250 a tire. Plus shipping of course which I hear is about $26 per tire. There are several local tire shops here that do a great price for a mount and balance for cheap.

if I upgraded to these MT's I obviously would lift my truck, I just want some wear and tear feedback about these guys's tires. I don't want someone bashing about retreads unless you've actually used their tires. Another concern is the heat on these tires since I live here in Arizona.

I have wondered the same thing. There was a big discussion about these tires over on the fjcruiserforums.com not too long ago. I would also like some feedback from people that have purchased and used these tires.
 
im pretty sure the mileage warranty is only 25k. which isnt much. years ago i used em on a second set of rims just for off roading, i dont think id want them on a DD that see's alot of highway. i havent seen any bad reviews on that company tho, & retreads are much better today than they use to be.

I have been researching these and I have seen alot of good reviews and some mixed reviews as it would be with any tire! I am now thinking about getting a set of these. My 4Runner is my 2nd vehicle so it really isn't considered my DD. I can get the guard dog mt's for $527 shipped. I guess it is like playing russian roulette. You might get lucky and have the best set they have ever made and you might not get lucky and have an awful set. I guess you can say that for any tire. Not sure what I want to do.
 
even some brand new tires have problems, for around 500 & used on a second vec. id say try em, the only bad reviews ive seen & thats if ya want to call em a review, seems to be by people that are just dead set against retreads, not ones who have owned these by this company. imo, retreads are better today than years ago, u may not get 50k but as a second set, on a second vec. or used as a spare , they may be worth it.
 
Thanks Chaz for your info. I've seen some reviews but I think that is the first one where someone mentioned anything about mileage. Based on their 6k wear when they swapped to something else they claim you might see 50K out of em.

I'm thinking that if I did go this route with tires, I'll get some sort of a lift then get a more daily driver friendly tire size and then use the retreads for some weekend muddin.

Does anyone else have any observations?

I am really really considering these tires!!!! 4 tires for $520 shipped to my door!!! Can't beat that price and with the reviews I think I am going to try them out!
 
Even with good savings if you can afford new then you should buy new but theses retreads seem ok if the budget is tight. I like a full warranty through the life of the tire and I also like free fixes,balances and rotations like I get at Discount.

(will see if I think the same when my next set approaches a thousand bucks out the door - my Duratracs were about $850 with the road hazard replacements;almost a thousand now)

RonMAIDEN - I was thinking about getting the DuraTrac's as my new tire of choice. How are you liking yours?
 
So far I really like my Duratracs,they handle wet weather really well and in the snow they were very solid,the only thing I'm unsure about is wear but I've got about 7000 on them in 10 months and the wear is fine and if they last to 40k+ I wouldn't hesitate to get another set. They probably give up a little bit to the BFGs off road but on road they have outperformed any BFG I previously owned.
 
I have them on my 4runner, 285/75/16, i have about 8,000 miles on them no problems or compliants at all, 2 of my buddy just ordered set for there trucks also, i was very leary at first to of them but but so far for the money nothing comes close, they work awsome both on and off road:roadkill:

Awesome! Good to see that somebody here has them on their 4Runner and stands by them. You just made my decision for me!
 
I just ordered a set of 265/75 R16 Warden's today. Very nice people to work with and very helpful with answering any questions. Grand total of $396 shipped to my front door!
 
Just wanted to give an update.
My TreadWright Wardens were delivered to my door within 4 days of placing the order. They arrived while I was at work but when they came in, my wife called and said "I'm not a tire girl, but these are beautiful and have lots of tread thingy's". I just cracked up!
I've only got 100 or so miles on them so far and no problems. I have a friend that has been running Guard Dogs on his big Dodge for a few months and he hasn't experienced any problems, which influenced my decision to buy. Prior to installing these, I had some 265/70 R16's that were a "no-name" brand that I can't recall. They were worn down to the TWI and needed replaced before the snow flies. I have noticed that the TreadWrights are put together well and that they put out a quality product in appearance. I have noticed very little road noise with these and they are a much softer ride than what I had on before. I'll keep you all updated with any problems...or not.

I really wish I had remembered to mention before you bought that they do have a negative impact on your gas mileage. I will say that they are quieter than expected, but no way near as quiet as stock tires. But you're aware that would happen.
