Tred recovery - better than a group buy!

Just got in for a set as well. I got the SUPER EARLY BIRD SPECIAL + TRED PRO MOUNTING KIT

I bought 2 sets couple days ago. I can't see this one going wrong?!? I got an email as others have talking about picking a color...very excited about this!! Now it's just sit back and wait for shipping...somewhere around April 2016!!!!

Voted for solid black TREDs on the basis that solid black will look great on any color 4Runner.

I just voted for my color...I choose Red. I'm not going to tell guys how to vote on a color....but I would like to ask yall to please think it through. Think of using this panel...its buried in mud/sand/dirt/muddy water...and its a nice shade of military green, sand color, camo, black, brown or any other color that matches the slop we get stuck in...imagine trying to find the panel covered in a large muddy hole full of slop! If your panel is a camo type color...it will only make finding your panel just that much more difficult! Trust me...been there...done that.

Now if the panel is a nice stand out color, like "RED"...the panel will be every easy to see/locate. Just my 2 cents worth.

Whatever floats your boat my brother! I told you...I'm not here to tell you how to vote. I just wanted people to be informed and think their decisions all the way through. Then, at the end of the survey...the most picked color, will be the winner.

We had a good selection to choose from... I believe we had 9 or 12 colors to pick from and then they gave one space up so you could actually write in a specific/special color. Can't ask for too much more than that!

I was kind of thinking the same thing about sand. Thought it would be a cool color but being that sand is the only thing we have in Florida, it would be a bad idea.

Went with all black as a compromise. I want it to blend in with my roof rack. I'll just tie some orange survey tape on it if I need to.

I pledged yesterday. Got my email this morning to vote and I voted for blue. I've never really understood these things as I've never been in a situation where I needed them. But I figure they'll look good on my Prinsu roof rack (when they're finally available for order) lol

That's a good thought...putting a bright tape or bright strap on them...then they still look sharp while attached to the rack when not in use! That's cool!!

Thoughts on getting 1 set (2) vs 2 (4)? Seems like 1 set (2) should be adequate for most situations.

also interested in the answer to this. I've never had a recovery device like this, is 2 good enough? would one ever need 4? is 4 practical? please bestow some wisom on me, oh wise recoverers. :hippie:

I decided to go with the "SUPER EARLY BIRD DOUBLE SET SPECIAL + TRED PRO MOUNTING KIT

2 x sets of TRED PRO recovery ramps + 1 x TRED PRO Mounting Kit"

Reasoning: I don't intend to ever install a winch, but there may be times where I get myself in a sticky situation. These TREDs can be overlapped to make them extra long. Additionally, if I'm by myself and get into a crappy situation and one or two break, I'll have 2 more ready to rock.
Between 4 of these and a snatch strap, I feel like I should be pretty well covered for most situations I could find myself in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong; I'm a complete rookie at off-roading.

In for a pair

I had the same debate, but in the end just bought 1 pair. I think it depends on your terrain more than anything. I will likely not get much use out of these since most of what I encounter in SoCal is dry dirt and rocky terrain, which these are not designed for. These will be insurance for me when I am on sand (usually with other people) and snow (4Runner is beast in snow), or on a longer excursion where my group encounters some good mud. Either way, I'm betting 2 is enough or my buddies will be able to help. This may not help, but that was my thinking.
