On a very good note, I already had an opportunity to use my TredPro's. My 15 yr old nephew got his TR4 stuck (real good). So I deployed my brand new TredPro's and got him out. I am very impressed with the construction of these. Very glad I got in on this group buy.

Curious why you would need two mounts? Their new mount only requires one and can hold up to two sets.

I've never seen a pair of TredPro's (or similar) and the mounting hardware in person, so I'm assuming that 2 mounts are needed or recommended for securely holding them in place.

If only 1 mount is needed, then I'm in good shape...

You should be good with 1 mount unless your mounting position necessitates something different. I bought the set with mount on Kickstarter and it only came with 1 mount. The mount parallel with the treds.

FYI... It came with short bolts for one set and long bolts for two sets (I only bought 1 set). I mounted it to my roof rack and it seems very secure.

The black parts that hold the treds to the bolts are interesting. There is a button that you push to lower them on and off the bolts. Then there is a knob on the top that twists to "lock" them in place and keep the button from being pushed so it can't come off by accident. There is a little hole on the top of the twist part that you can run a lock through so you can leave it on your roof and not get stolen. The only issue is I don't know where to buy the lock.

Went another route thanks for remembering me though...
 
Anybody that did not order the mounting hardware, what are you using to mount these to your rack if you are?

I'm currently just using ratchet straps and they work but I'm always open to new ideas. Maybe something that secures them so you don't have to worry if you need to leave the truck for a little while. :lock1:
