Wants to much in my opinion.
Holy $hhit! That's way too much!!! If you want a Hill Billy 4runner just cut the back out of your cab and install a shell!!! Or buy a runner for half that price. I don't care if there's only 1200 of em made! That guys on crack!

thanks for the props fellas .. and here is some of what I know about the trekkers .
there were 1500 built . 800 stayed in the USA , most stying in the west - 500 came to Canada , again with most staying in the west . 200 went overseas with most of those goiing to Saudi Arabia , and others scattered throught out Europe . THIS info is all hear say though , as Winnabego dosnt even know how many # 's they made , I am basing my info. on MY reliable sources , and MY knowledge .
also from what i know .. there ar ~ 50 register in the US .. and ~ 10 in Canada .. so not many left
I know for me , the Trekkers are like for some of you a "muscle car" . I never owned a muscle car , nor really wanted to .. My first vehicle was an import , a Datsun 1200 . @ 16 yrs old and I could afford the gas . I started working at the Toyota dealership when I was 18 , in 1980 and in 81 I saw my first Trekker .. I could never afford one at the time as it was a $4700.00 conversion added to the cost of a new 4x4 . I always wanted one , and now I do .
so is it worth it ? Only the new buyer can tell you that !!!

Thanks .. I guess you missed the voting huh :bigok: , no worries I did as well ... anyway , we're going to reproduce the rear back 1/2vs .. and will have them done this year , so now anyone can now own a new technology fiberglass trekker

The yellow 81 is the spitting image of my old short bed I had 20 years ago. I mean she wasn't a trekker but the decals and color are spot on.
