I deleted the message I put on your user page. But allow me to explain myself. I had nothing invested in this GB but I felt that I needed to step in and see if there was any way I can help to get things sorted out. I know I had very little to do with getting things sorted out but I still felt like I should at least try to shake things up a little bit.

I would like to add that when I bought my lights from you I was VERY impressed with the level of customer service I got from you. You answered all of my questions very promptly, complete and to the point. You handled yourself very professionally and I was convinced that you would be the only person I would buy lights from (assuming you supplied what I needed). Your communication was on point and is also why I recommended and said the good things I did when I posted HERE. I also posted the same thing on IH8MUD to try and promote you and your products.

I do have to agree with [MENTION=50591]gaterose[/MENTION] with his statement. It did seem like your lengthy post about the hassles of running a business was an excuse as to why things didn't work out the way you had planned. As I had pointed out before, your biggest set back was simply your lack of communication. I am going to assume that you will have a very hard time selling more lights on any forums any time soon. IF you had better communication and kept everyone informed by posting to the masses on the forums instead of replying to individual pm's and emails, you would have had a much happier (or at least tolerant) customer base. But instead as you stated that you thought it was better to leave everyone in the dark instead of keeping your customers informed which is very poor form.

Either way, I wish you well and good luck in your future ventures.

I got my tracking # yesterday but the package has not been updated since the electronic shipping info was received.

I will say that I wondered if I was ever going to get my lights (they're still not technically here) - or - if they never showed up - my money back.

However, because of one of my other hobbies that involves sending paperwork off to the government and waiting a minimum of 4-6 months before you get your approval and subsequently your goods - I've not let the delay in getting my group buy lights drive me insane. 5 years ago it would have and I'd probably have gotten a claim going a month ago but I've grown a LOT more patient since then.

If I get my lights and all is well, I'll likely purchase additional lights from Troy in the future. Did he handle this group buy well? Not really. However, if he delivers and the quality is right I'm fairly sure that when the craziness of all this dies down that he'll be filling orders at a pace consistent with the excellent customer service I received early on in the ordering process.

I think his biggest mistake - which he CLEARLY acknowledged - was his lack of communication throughout the process. I for one accept his apology and explanation. Does it excuse his conduct? No - but he recognizes the mistakes and from my communication with him he seems plenty competent to learn from them and that's enough for me. :bigok:

So I've had tracking info since 5/2 (Thursday) and when I check the status - it still only says "Electronic Shipping Info Received"....

That usually indicates that the label has been created but the package has not yet been handed over to USPS. It COULD be a glitch or it could be yet another ridiculous hiccup in this process...

What gives?

My lights arrived last week. However, my motherboard on my 4-1/2 year old PC took a dump so I was without a computer (and in the process of building a whole new machine) so I didn't get a chance to post.

I have not had a chance to test the lights and probably won't for at least a week. I'll post more when I do.

They were well packaged and arrived in good condition. The order appears to be correct as well.

I've got the flood pods mounted to my rear tire carrier as reverse / aux lights.

I tested the output when I got them by just touching the terminals to a battery but I'll see how they look tonight now that they are all hooked up (thanks Bobby)

I got mine on the way out of town for my 2 week Utah trip. I had to arrange a pickup at UPS, and take all of my wiring and mounting tools with me. I ended up wiring them at my campsite in Moab before giving them the ultimate test on Fins 'n Things. I got the 36" XT that I stealth mounted inside my megawarrior roof rack (pics to come). The lights seem quite well built, housing is sturdy and after some hardcore wheeling they are still on their mounts. A few things:

1. I thought they were supposed to come with a switch. No switch, just lights, and mounting hardware (positive and negative wires exposed)

2. They put out a LOT of light. I got the spot beam, but to be honest I can barely tell. They throw so much light right in front of my truck, out to the sides and down the road you literally cannot tell when i have on low beams, high beams, fog lights or my KC daylighters. When wheeling I could've (and did) turn off all my other lights and did NOT need them. But it does make for a difficult calibration. as stated, i got the "spot" and I can't actually see a "spot" to really tell where I have them pointed. Even 50 feet away pointed at the side of a wal-mart. Maybe I got the floods?

My 4" XT throw out a wide but long beam. You would know if you had floods. They throw out wider and shorter.

I have a 42" spot flood combo. Oh my god I love this thing

I recieved all my lights in excellent condition on 20 May 2013 and just finished getting them installed last night. I got a 36" XT lightbar and 4 flood pods for the sides of the vehicle. I have a trip planned this weekend, so I should get some night shots. So far the lights are awesome and I am stoked to have them for my trip this weekend!

So I've had my lights for less than 2 months on my truck. Any reason one would turn gold? I'm going to put in a warranty claim and see where it takes me. I'm not holding my breath.

Talked about in previous threads(sorry can't remember where) but the andonization seems to "wear" off. I don't know if its due to excessive heat or just was poorly done in the first place. Shouldn't really effect the functionality of the product just the looks of it? When in doubt you could just say you are going for that West Coast Customs look with gold plated lights. . . .:rofl:

What is weird is that both lights are on the same switch so they have both been on for the same amount of time. I guess it could be from the sun. Either way, I think it is a defect and would think the warranty should cover it.
But, I am going for the gangsta look so hopefully the other turns gold so they match. :biggrin1:

Well no disrespect but that's super ugly! I hope our TL's don't do that too...grrrrr, never ending with this product! Can we just spray paint them or will that cause them to not cool properly???

I dont know how it would look but any auto store would have header paint which I think is good up and beyond 1300 degrees F?! I rehit my skids with this after sanding off the rust but was concerned about excessive engine heat. I used just black but they have other colors

Now that is some really tough paint. It completely transformed the front plate to fit under the engine.

Ha yeah sorry. Took pictures of the first one prepping and then took after of the middle plate. Got too dark to take a picture of the same skid haha.

Did his manufacturer anodize that with a black sharpie? :loco:

If you're going to paint it, I would try to spray on as thin of a coat as possible since it's a heat sink. I am not positive but I think if you spray it on too thick you might be insulating it some what?
