Quick update. Suspension in, still on the fence with the rear set up as it doesn’t seem to keep up with the front coilovers.
Also pulled off the worn out noisy duratracs and installed some pizza cutters: cooper 255/80/17 ST MAXX’s

Whats your feedback on the Coopers? How is the tire noise as well as traction in the New England elements?

Are you two guys on FB? The Northeast 4Runners Owners Association is a good little group. We need more people to make wheelin' trips.
I was just in Middletown, CT last Sat. picking up my new to me 99 Limited.
On rt 66 & saw a built 3rd gen with a snorkel, we beeped & waved! :hatsoff:
I remember this thread & how mint she was when you picked her up!

No noise to report back on yet, although my duratrac's were the same way and then after then got worn down, they were noisy as heck. My MPG's did take a hit, the coopers are heavy and I bumped up to a 33" tire

Well i'll start with a disclaimer; CT frowns upon offroading. There's only one legal spot left in Ellington that I know of. Everything else is 'enter at your own risk'. I would recommend joining the New England Overland and 4runners of New England groups on Facebook. You'll find they have a lot of events in MA, VT, NH and Maine. What part of CT are you moving to? I might be parting out my rig soon, bought a 2010 Trail Edition 4runner

Okay good to know. NY is the same was as far as I know. Family is in Middletown so somewhere near there/Hartford. Depends on what happens with the job. Could be MA as well. I actually saw your rig on CL which led me to your thread. I wish I were searching for a second runner. Surprised there’s no takers as-is

Right on, I've had a ton of low ballers that I'd rather keep the rig than take 5 grand for it or just part it out. I still go out to bow lane in Middletown to the old power line trails to play around but they've started graveling over a lot of the trails. Nepaug has really started cracking down on off-roading. Glastonbury quarry is still a good spot as it Porter Road in Ellington. Hit me up when you get into town and we'll plan a trip.

End of a chapter, sold rumbles tonight. Don’t worry, she’s going to a good home. A Toyota technician came up from NJ and bought it.
What’s next? I just bought a Salsa Red 2010 Trail Edition from adventure-motors. I’m having them outfit it before she’s shipped to Connecticut, stay tuned for the new thread in the 5th gen section.
