Trip Computer Malfunction

I have had a similar problem occur with my trip computer on three successive occasions now. After I fill up my 03 4Runner with gas and drive for a day or two the trip computer will suddenly show a Range reading of 0 miles. I posted this question when it originally occured and someone suggested that I disconnect the battery for a few hours to reset the computer. I did so and the range reset and seemed to work fine until the next time I filled up with gas.

This has now happened three times and its getting to be a little bit of a pain in the butt to keep disconnecting the battery to reset the computer. Just wondering if anyone may have some suggestions. I really hate going to the dealer for something like this.

It's a warranty item. Take it to the dealer and have them replace it.

I really hate going to the dealer for something like this.

Well, then, you'll just have to live with it.

That would be a great idea if it were under warranty.
